For this course, memorize and think about the following:

What is research for society? - Progress is often driven by research. Think of space travel, penicillin, de-escalation strategies, smart homes, etc. Research is a quest for knowledge that is conducted in a way that is systematic, well-considered, well planned, thought out in advance etc. Taxes are used to fund research, to foster scientific innovations, so to improve life.
2.
Read chapter 1 and 3.1 of the European Code of Conduct and look up any unknown words.
